    Dead Letters from Paradise

Ann McMan's beautiful and laugh-out-loud funny novel set in 1960s North Carolina, following a mysterious trail of letters mailed to a historical garden.

  • About ME

I've recorded over 150 titles in both fiction and nonfiction from the quiet comfort of a small dark room.

And I love to tell a good story...

I came to audiobooks by way of theatre, where I've worked as an actor, singer, director, writer, and educator for over twenty-five years. My professional background in Shakespeare, contemporary drama, musical comedy, opera, and jazz, gives me a facility with language, characters, and accents, making me a versatile performer and collaborative partner.

Known for my work in literary fiction, mystery, humor, romance, and narrative nonfiction, I've recorded for Hachette, Blackstone, Brilliance, HighBridge, BeeAudio, and Audible Studios, and as part of a stellar multi-cast, I was nominated for an Audie Award.

My stage credits include productions at regional theatres and in concert halls across the country and across the pond, from many seasons with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, to Berkeley Rep, La Jolla Palyhouse, American Opera projects in NYC, the Barbican Centre in London, and the Grotowski Institute in Poland. I teach voice at Southern Oregon University, direct musicals at the local high school, love to sing choral music and perform experimental chamber music in art museums, and narrate with symphony orchestras. I'm currently developing my cabaret project, Torched: The Songs that Ruined Our Lives.

I record in my pro home studio and am a proud SAG-AFTRA member. When not in a small dark room, I can be found in the beautiful hills of Southern Oregon, taking a cat and a Malamute for a walk.

    Daddy Love

"Oates’s disturbing tale is chillingly conveyed in this audio edition thanks to Christine Williams’s compelling narration. Williams provides a calm, almost clinical reading that captures listener attention immediately. And when the plot of the book turns violent, the events become all the more unsettling via Williams’s matter-of-fact delivery. Listeners willing to delve into dark material will find themselves in good hands." Publisher's Weekly

    Roux Morgue

"Narrator Christine Williams’s breezy tone offsets the tension of the mystery and heightens both the mouth-watering kitchen scenes and the back-alley murder settings. Light as a soufflé in places, ROUX MORGUE provides the listener with a feast of adventure and a soupçon of romance. Pick up a fork and indulge." AudioFile

    Brainstorm

"Narrator Christine Williams gently introduces the patients and their experiences. Her voice lends quiet dignity to the patients' lives and reflects O'Sullivan's own fascination with their cases." AudioFile
